What are the responsibilities and job description for the Survey Transit Operator position at City of Palm Bay?
Graduation from high school, with vocational course-work in surveying desired, and a minimum 2 years of experience in land surveying. Previous experience as a Survey Transit Operator preferred. Experience with GPS and digital leveling preferred. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
Non-essential employees will not be required to work during a declared emergency but may be required to work during an undeclared emergency or in the aftermath of an event associated with a declared emergency. On an incident by incident basis, the employee's Department Head will make the determination when the employee will be required to work.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs surveying functions for capital improvements, drainage, bridge, and storm water and road projects as assigned.
Serves to support a Survey Party Chief in surveying assignments; assists in complex surveying situations, provides documentation to Party Chief where data in inconsistent with project plan requirements.
Prepares survey sketches to be utilized by design and construction engineers.
Utilizes various surveying equipment to find and locate property boundaries, stake lines, and to find underground utilities.
