What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Specialist - Regular Part-Time Benefits Eligible position at City of Palm Beach Gardens?
This position performs a variety of customer service and specialized clerical work. This position will address daily customer service needs at the new Burns Road Community Center including answering calls, responding to emails, greeting customers, processing program registrations, monitoring activity within the facility, preparing rooms for activities including setup/teardown and light cleaning, etc. The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record of offering courteous and high-quality customer service for both internal and external customers.
- Greets all visitors to Public Service, providing courteous and efficient customer service
- Performs specialist clerical work
- Answers in-coming calls and routes callers or provides information as required
- Obtains, receives, and distributes incoming mail, and processes outgoing mail
- Types a variety of correspondences, reports, memoranda, and other material requiring judgement as to content, accuracy and completeness
- Schedules appointments and travel plans, as required
- Assists with maintaining division telephone listings
- Receives deliveries and directs them to the appropriate person(s)
- Responsible for entering purchase orders for the purchase of materials and supplies; responsible for processing invoices for payment
- Collects data and runs reports as needed
- Provides coverage for the Administrative Assistant when he/she is out of the office
- Procures goods/services through purchase orders and/or a purchasing card
- Acts as liaison with utility companies and monitors account billing and usage
- Performs various clerical duties as assigned and assists as support staff when necessary
- Performs duties as assigned and schedule during emergency response conditions
- Performs any other duties as required or assigned
- Reconciles statements, invoices and project expenditures
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Considerable clerical experience
- Any related combination of education, training and experience
- Valid State of Florida Driver’s License with a good driving record
