Summary

The Dishwasher/Busser position is responsible for taking direction from the Chef to complete janitorial and support tasks for the Back of House (BOH) operations, and other staff members or supervisors as assigned. These tasks ensure tableware, utensils, cooking equipment, kitchen prep areas and dining environments are clean and sanitary. Bussers will attend to front of house (FOH) areas to clean tables, clear plates, utensils, and drinkware to the kitchen to be washed. Bussers will assist in restocking and resetting dining areas for service. Dishwashers are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitization of dishes, tableware, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils through manual and machine cleaning methods. Dishwashers are expected to keep the dishwashing area clean and safe, ensure the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables and occasionally resetting dining areas, preparation of dining areas and kitchen for next shift by thoroughly cleaning and restocking of preparation and cooking stations.

This position will receive additional compensation as a percentage of service fees collected on all sales, to be paid out on their paycheck bi-weekly. Service fees distributions will be determined based on the number of hours worked and total sales accumulated in the pay period. Service fees will be collected on both daily dining and group/special event dining.

Essential Function Duties and Responsibilities

• Collecting and removing kitchenware and utensils from dining, lounge, and kitchen areas to be properly cleaned
• Loading and unloading washing machines
• Washing specific items by hand as needed
• Answering, reporting to, and follow the directives as given by the Chef
• Cleaning and maintaining any equipment used for daily, lounge, and banquet dining
• Storing clean dishes, glasses, and equipment appropriately
• Assisting with the restocking of service-ware and other dining needs
• Maintaining cleaning supplies and reporting when supplies need to be recorded or reordered
• Removing garbage from front and back-of-the-house areas on a regular basis
• Sanitizing kitchen areas, including floors as needed
• Complying with all sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Reporting any needed repairs to back-of-the-house equipment or unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor
• Maintaining a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Maintaining the driving range bays and removing plates, trash, utensils, cups, etc. and sanitizing all dining areas after use by patrons
• Time management skills
• Attention to detail and sanitation requirements
• Other tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Hands on experience with industrial washing/ cleaning equipment

Special Qualifications/Preferences

Valid State of Florida Driver’s License with a good driving record

Pension Plan: Provided through the Florida Retirement System (FRS). Choice between the Investment Plan with a one (1) year vesting schedule, and the Pension Plan with an eight (8) year vesting schedule. Mandatory 3% pre-tax contribution.
