Description
A Police Impound Lot Technician involves working in a vehicle impound lot, handling tasks related to the storage, maintenance, and processing of impounded vehicles/equipment, to include cars, trucks, ATV’s, golf carts, other mechanical equipment. This could include receiving and storing vehicles/equipment, maintaining lot security, performing basic vehicle/equipment maintenance for cleaning or ensuring operability, assisting with vehicle/property auctions or release procedures, and potentially dealing with administrative tasks like record-keeping or data entry.

Typical Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant experience to demonstrate diverse objectives and the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid Florida driver’s license.
- Successfully pass background check and NCIC/FCIC certification.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
- The Police Captain assigns work in terms of general instructions, department goals, and objectives. The supervisor will review the work to check for compliance with policy, procedures, and accuracy.
TYPICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Physical labor:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to talk, hear, see, reach, kneel, crouch, twist, grasp, and perform frequent light to moderate lifting up to 50 lbs. and occasional heavy lifting over 50lbs. while moving and securing vehicles, potentially requiring physical strength and stamina.
- Outdoor environment:
Working in an open-air impound lot, exposed to weather conditions (sun, rain, heat, and cold).
