In addition to creating a warm and welcoming library experience to all users, candidates are expected to maintain organized shelves and a clean and orderly space. - Accurately shelve materialsaccording to established librarysystems,alphabetize, read,andperform simple arithmeticandmaintainanorderly library.
- Providefriendly, enthusiastic customer service toa wide variety of patrons and co-workers, in person and over the telephone.
- Perform circulation-related tasks including check-in and check-out of materials.
- Possess a passion forserving the community and working with people.
- Obtain materials from the collection for patrons and staff on request.
- Ability to carry out written and oral instructions.
- Support co-workersin providing excellent customer service,programsand outreach.
- Consistently surveys the library keeping tables and spaces in order and tidy, straightens and shifts materials as needed.
- Performs routine clerical duties, which may include filing and the operation of a variety of office equipment such as a computer terminal, copy machine, scanning equipment, etc.
- Push heavy book trucks and bins.
- Carryheavy bound volumes and equipment up and down stairs.
- Set up rooms forprograms andmeetings.
- Runs errands and distributes mail.
- Performs other related work as necessary.
