LOCATION: City of Pasco, WA (on-site)
SALARY: $53,164.80 - $63,835.20 annually ($25.56 - $30.69 hourly), depending on qualifications
JOB TYPE: Regular / Full-Time
UNION STATUS: Non-Union
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (opportunity for flex scheduling if department allows)

THE ROLE:
As a Department Assistant II in the Public Works Engineering Division, you will play a critical role in supporting efficient office operations through clerical, secretarial, and reception duties. This includes basic accounting, accounts payable, scheduling, and providing outstanding customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. You'll also assist in performing data analysis and records management.
The ideal candidate will have 2 years of general clerical experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to foster a culture based on integrity and respect. You will collaborate with the Project Support Specialist, Deputy Director, and engineering staff. A background check and verification of qualifications are required upon acceptance of a conditional offer.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
(Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job.)
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Two (2) years of general clerical experience
Valid Washington State driver license
Ability to obtain a notary public license within six (6) months
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in the public sector
Bilingual (English/Spanish)

SAFETY/WORK CONDITIONS:
