Job Description:
The City of Patterson seeks a highly skilled Fire Prevention Inspector to join its team. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct fire inspections and investigations to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with fire codes and regulations
- Enforce fire safety laws and regulations through education, outreach, and enforcement activities
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to share resources and expertise
- Develop and implement public fire safety education programs
- Investigate routine complaints of fire/life safety hazards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Public Administration, or related field
- Three years of progressively responsible experience in fire prevention, inspection, or code enforcement
- Familiarity with local, state, and national fire safety codes and regulations
- Certifications in Fire Inspection IA, IB, IC required; certifications in Fire Inspector 2A, 2B, 2C within two years of appointment
- Valid California Class C driver's license
