What We're Looking For:
The City of Patterson is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fire Prevention Inspector to join its team. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
Responsibilities:
- Perform fire inspections and investigations to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with fire codes and regulations
- Enforce fire safety laws and regulations through education, outreach, and enforcement activities
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to share resources and expertise
- Develop and implement public fire safety education programs
- Investigate routine complaints of fire/life safety hazards
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized training equivalent to an Associate's Degree in Fire Science, construction inspection, code enforcement, or related field
- Successful completion of Fire Service Training and Educational Systems certification program classes provided by the California Office of the State Fire Marshal
- Three years of progressively responsible experience dealing with the public in an inspection and/or enforcement role within a fire or building department
- Valid California Class C driver's license
