The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a Part-Time CRR Specialist to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Community Risk Reduction division within the Fire Department.
The Part-Time CRR Specialist earns a competitive salary of $21.19 - $22.94/hour, based on qualifications. We also offer access to the city's recreation fitness center and employee assistance program.
Work schedule is flexible, but some evenings/weekends may be required, depending on events.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A PART-TIME CRR SPECIALIST
Job Summary
The purpose of this class within the organization is to be an active member of the Community Risk Reduction (CRR) team. This class aids with car seat inspections, bike team events, equipment maintenance, conducting various trainings, presentations and/courses for schools, daycares, businesses within the City, community and for other City departments.
This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.
Essential Functions
- Schedule and staff bike team events; participate as a member of the Bike Team.
- Conduct bike maintenance; maintain and log medical bags & equipment.
- Conduct car seat inspections.
- Teach CPR, First Aid, AED, and Stop the Bleed courses and provide fire extinguisher, fire prevention, and injury prevention trainings/presentations to the community and other city departments.
- Schedule and conduct private ambulance inspections; maintain permit compliance for ambulance permits.

Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
- Two (2) years of CRR, Fire, or EMS experience required.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
- TCFP Firefighter Basic preferred.
- DSHS EMT-Basic required.
- TCFP Fire and Life Safety Educator certification, preferred.
- Car Seat Technician, preferred.
- International Police Mountain Bike (IPMB) or equivalent, preferred.
- Stop the Bleed Instructor required, or able to obtain within 3 months of employment.
- Fire Extinguisher Trainer required, or able to obtain within 3 months of employment.
- CPR Instructor required, or able to obtain within 12 months of employment.
