Position Overview:
Visit Pearland is the official destination marketing organization for the City of Pearland with a primary focus of promoting and marketing the City of Pearland as a destination to attract visitors.
JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of this class within the organization is to produce and aide in the creation of internal and external communications for Visit Pearland website, social media accounts, events and programs.
This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the organizational mission of the Visit Pearland team and provide general assistance in the operation of the Visitor Center, execution of programming and fulfilment needs to increase visitation.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and curate engaging event content for the Visit Pearland website calendar.
- Conduct quarterly audits of the Visit Pearland website and various partner websites with Pearland submitted material for accuracy/relevance and create content updates as needed.
- Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content for social media channels.
- Attend events/local businesses to produce social media content as needed.
- Maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels.
- Collaborate with marketing manager to create a social media calendar.
- Process incoming leads from external partners and visitor inquiries in a timely manner.
- Provide top notch Visit Pearland guest services support in communications and collateral for the Visitor Center lobby, sponsored events, tournaments, family reunions, etc.
- Coordinate prize fulfillment needs and communications in a timely manner.
- Maintain promotional items and collateral inventory and communicate updates to team members and vendor partners.
- Provide administrative support to process payment of p-card transactions, invoices and purchase orders into City's financial systems.
- Attend special events sponsored by Visit Pearland as needed.
- Complete other projects as needed aligning with the Visit Pearland mission and team goals and strategies.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent
One to three years of experience in communications, graphic design, marketing, or closely related experience
One to three years of experience with social media marketing or content development.
Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Special License and Certifications:
A valid Texas Driver's License
Salary : $18 - $20
