What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crew Leader - Street position at City of Perryville?
The City of Perryville is currently accepting applications for a Crew Leader within the Street Department of Public Works. Ideal applicant will have an excellent work ethic, the skills necessary to work with others as part of a team and the ability to provide excellent customer service. The Crew Leader position receives direction from the Street Superintendent and assists the Superintendent in the supervision of assigned maintenance personnel. This is a hands-on position which requires the Crew Leader to assist in the direction and performance of the job tasks of the crew.
Primary duties of the position include overseeing and assisting in work projects such as the maintenance, repair, and construction of public roadway infrastructure including asphalt and concrete pavements, concrete curb and gutters, sidewalks, and related roadways; operation of heavy equipment; street sweeping; street sign maintenance; leaf and limb removal as well as snow and ice removal.
Starting annual salary is $43,209.00 with an increase to $44,938.00 after the completion of the probation period. City residency is not required; however, any prospective on-call employee shall reside within a 35-mile and 45-minute radius of their worksite. Once trained, members of this team are required to participate in a rotating, after-hours, on-call schedule, typically serving about one week per month. A strong preference will be given to applicants with the following skills, abilities and qualifications:
- Prior concrete and construction labor experience (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent GED (required)
- Valid Missouri driver’s license (required)
- Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement (required)
- Applicants who do not hold a CDL at time of hire must obtain within the probationary period
