ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT
LEADING JOURNEYMAN MAINTENANCE OPERATOR
The City of Peru is accepting applications for a Leading Journeyman Maintenance Operator in our Electric Department.
Responsibilities will include maintaining and operating high voltage generators and related equipment driven by diesel, gas, or hydropower. Additional responsibilities will include troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, and lubricating systems and performing regulatory reporting data gathering and documentation.
Qualified candidates must have a demonstrated ability to supervise junior personnel and a demonstrated ability to administer formal maintenance programs. Must have the ability to read ladder logic, schematics and be mechanically inclined. Additionally, must have a valid Illinois Class A CDL, be able to lift a maximum of 100 pounds, and reside within 20 miles of Peru within 6 months of employment. PLC and welding experience preferred.
Full-time position with competitive salary and excellent benefit package. The starting rate of pay for this position is $49.42 per hour.
