General DescriptionThe purpose of this class within the organization is to perform routine custodial work in facilities and on transit buses. This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential Functions: Empties trash containers; disposes of trash and recyclables.Dusts and polishes furniture, shelves and counter tops.Wet and dry mops floors; strips, waxes and buffs floors; vacuums mats and carpets, and spot cleans carpeted areas.Cleans and disinfects restrooms and fixtures, and replenishes supplies.Cleans windows, window sills, walls and woodwork and blinds.Maintains custodial supply area in a clean and orderly manner; reports supply and equipment needs.Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.Sets up furniture for meetings.Removes snow and sweeps and washes walkways.
