What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pewaukee Sports Complex Turf Manager position at City of Pewaukee?
The City of Pewaukee is hiring a Seasonal Turf Manager position under the direction of the Parks Maintenance Supervisor. Candidates must be available for a minimum of a 4-month period during the season (April to July) with the potential of fall league play (September & October); preference will be given to those available for the entire season. Position will be working nights and weekends; holiday hours may be required. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, which may include heat, cold and various forms of precipitation.
Duties
This position is responsible for assisting with overall care of the turfed Sports Complex ball diamonds including enforcing turf rules through communication with site supervisors, umpires, coaches, players and Parks Supervisor.
Hands-on opportunity to help maintain a professional look of these areas of mowing, infield maintenance, moisture management on all surfaces. Maintain a safe playing surface for the players, coaches, and umpires. Safely operate various grounds equipment such as mowers, utility carts, etc. Maintain grassed areas outside the playing surface – yet inside the confines of the park. Maintain the field before and after games. Empty trash cans in dugouts and spectator seating area as necessary. Clean field and dugouts at the conclusion of the night. Inspect, clean and re-stock restrooms as needed during games/tournaments.
Assist with game responsibilities; pre-game preparations, in-game maintenance, and post-game duties. Prepare field for games and practices through discussions with coaching staff for setup / tear down. Assist in overall operation of park – assisting other staff members when needed. Supervise concession staff when necessary.
