This posting is not open to the public and not open to seasonal employees without permanent Civil Service status in the department.ABOUT THE POSITIONThis is specialized clerical work with responsibility for coordinating election activities and verifying information related to voter registration in support of primary, general, and special elections. Employees in this class perform work in the Office of the City Commissioners and are responsible for a wide variety of specialized clerical functions to contribute to the preparation and conduction of elections by registering citizens to vote, processing voter registration changes in the Statewide Uniform Registry of Electors database, directing aspects of the canvass and computation of elections, receiving and checking petitions filed by candidates for political office, and dispensing information on election laws. Employees in this class may provide technical direction to lower level clerical employees, process campaign expense reports, or reference Pennsylvania campaign expense laws. Gathering and compiling information to provide voters, the public, candidates and political party representatives with materials about election and voter registration processes and maintaining knowledge of applicable election laws are significant aspects of the work. Assignments are stable in nature and are carried out according to standard election code practices and general work instructions.
