About This Position

The City of Phoenix Public Works Department is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Facilities Asset Management (FAM) Project Management Assistant (PMA) to support the Facilities Asset Management Project Manager in coordinating and implementing the Facilities Asset Management program. This position will play a key role in the planning, scoping, and estimating capital improvement projects, particularly Major Maintenance, while collaborating closely with the Facilities Operations Division.

The Facilities Asset Management Project Management Assistant will be an integral part of the Facilities Asset Management team, contributing to the long-term success and condition of the City of Phoenix's real estate assets. You'll be working with a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing public facilities and infrastructure. This position offers opportunities for professional development, networking, and making a direct impact on the city's growth and maintenance.

Knowledge Of

  • Administrative skills and abilities that aid the effective management and administration of the Facilities Asset Management program.
  • Computer software proficiency in standard programs including asset management system, Microsoft, and Adobe software.
  • Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire life safety systems.
  • ArcGIS and AutoCAD software.


Able To

  • Plan, organize, and prioritize assigned work.
  • Efficiently use of time.
  • Develop realistic action plans.


SALARY

Pay Range: $54,454 to $97,780 annually.

Hiring Range: $54,454 to $80,454 annually.

  • Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.
  • Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in governmental research, urban development, finance or public administration.
  • AND Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, urban planning, architecture, engineering, economics, or a related field.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

  • Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

Experience With

  • Making recommendations to improve program effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Writing and submitting comprehensive reports.
  • Collecting and analyzing data.
  • Capital improvement project planning and major maintenance processes.
  • Conducting detailed audits, compliance reviews, and analysis.
  • Creating, developing, and documenting training and user guides.
  • Analyzing asset lifecycles.
  • Facilities management, project management or asset management.
