About This Position
The Phoenix Convention Center & Venues hosts a diverse range of conventions, trade shows, meetings, and entertainment events in one of the premier convention facilities in the United States. The Phoenix Convention Center is one of the largest convention centers in the United States, hosting approximately 65 national and international conventions each year and more than 500 events of all kinds in three convention buildings with more than 900,000 attendees annually. Our vision is to become the premier convention and entertainment complex in North America through our distinctive venues, caring service, and memorable experiences.
The Phoenix Convention Center & Venues is seeking dynamic, outgoing Guest Service Representatives who enjoy working with people. The ideal candidate must be organized and people-oriented; and be able to provide information, direction and guest assistance throughout our extended downtown campus. Currently there are multiple vacancies. This position ensures guests to the Phoenix Convention Center & Venues are warmly greeted immediately upon entry as well as accurately directed to various meeting spaces within all levels of the many venues of the Convention Center.
Other Duties Include
This position is part time and works irregular hours that include, nights, weekends, and holidays. Work schedules are based on event activity and could vary. This position requires frequent and prolonged walking and standing and working irregular hours, evening, weekends, and holidays. Work schedules will vary based upon event activity.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Pay and Hiring Range: $16.88 - $26.18 per hour.
Pay Range Explanation
Part-time employees are eligible for earned paid sick time, city training, and free or discounted bus and light rail fares.

- Going out of their way to make customers feel important and valued - giving 100% attention to customers.
- Smiling, making eye contact, and providing enthusiastic greetings to all guests.
- Having a positive attitude and ability to work well within a team environment.
- Being knowledgeable of local current attractions and/or events (e.g., concerts, theater, sporting events).
- Using independent judgment to handle any customer services matters in satisfactory manner.
- Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing, with the public, employees and service partners on a daily basis.

Pay and Hiring Range: $16.88 - $26.18 per hour.
Pay Range Explanation
- Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.
- Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.

Minimum Qualifications
- One year of experience in meeting the public and performing varied office and clerical tasks.
- Supplemented by courses in bookkeeping and demonstrated typing skills.
- Other combinations of experience and education which meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
- May be required to bend, kneel, walk, sit, and/or stand regularly throughout an eight-hour shift.
