About This Position
Management Assistants perform a variety of high level administrative and technical work such as tracking and analyzing operational data and making statistical analyses, studying special administrative problems, and developing improved systems, procedures, and forms that lower operating costs or increase efficiency. Duties include managing multiple projects at once; evaluating, developing and implementing recommended changes in organization, technology, policies or regulations; developing and maintaining operational quality control systems; creating training, informational and procedural materials for customers and staff; and processing and reviewing reports to executive management.
Reporting to the Public Works Operations Manager, this position is responsible for administrative support to the Solid Waste Division management team. The selected candidate must be able to manage confidential documents, organize efficiently, be proactive in planning, and have broad proficiency in technology. The Solid Waste Division employs more than 600 employees, and this position will support the hiring/recruitment and on-boarding of critical positions; review and track all corrective action associated with personnel issues; develop and communicate critical division policies and procedures; and provide general administrative support to the Solid Waste Management team, including the Assistant Director.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Pay Range: $57,179 - $102,668 annually.
Hiring Range: $57,179 - $88,691 annually.

Pay Range: $57,179 - $102,668 annually.

Minimum Qualifications
- One year of experience in governmental research, finance or public administration.
- Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or a related field,
- AND completion of required course work for a master's degree in public administration, political science, or a related field.

- Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
- SharePoint experience.
- Two years of professional experience creating or maintaining reports for executive level management.
- Two years of professional experience assembling and analyzing complex information, such as data, policies, and writing related summaries and reports.
- Customer service experience.
- Records management experience.
