Phoenix Police Department's Property Crimes Bureau (PCB) is currently seeking to fill two Police Civilian Investigator (PCI) positions: o ne job share position assigned to Property Crimes Bureau (2 days/week, 0600 - 1600 hours) and one full-time position assigned to the Property Crimes Bureau. As a Police Civilian Investigator (PCI) within the Property Crimes Bureau, you will play a critical role in supporting investigations related to property crimes by conducting thorough investigations, gathering and analyzing evidence, and collaborating closely with sworn officers to bring cases to resolution. The Primary Responsibilities Of a PCI Within PCB Include

  • Conducting investigations, gathering evidence, report writing, case management, and collaborating with sworn police officers.
  • Author incident reports and review reports authored by patrol to ascertain if there is additional investigative work needed and if probable cause exists.
  • File cases for prosecution, author court orders and search warrants, and manage cases.

SALARY

Pay Range: $28.86 to $47.01 per hour.

Hiring Range: $28.86 to $38.68 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED equivalency.
  • Three years of investigative experience in law enforcement, public safety, loss prevention, crime scene management, forensics, or other relevant legal or private sector fields.

  • All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.
  • Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

Preferred Qualifications

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

  • Experience with/in:
    • Complex investigations in civil law.
    • RMS (Records Management System), FBR (Field Based Research), Evidence-com, CLIPS and LEADS Online.
    • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
    • Working in a team environment and problem solving.
    • Search and seizure.
    • Authoring search warrants.
