IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Knowledge of Oracle/SQL language a plus.'
- General crime analysis principles, research methodology, and statistical techniques.
- Various crime classification systems (e.g., UCR SRS, UCR NIBRS, and ARS).
- Hexagon InPursuit record management system (RMS) version 12.7 or newer.
- Gain proficiency in various document review tools and software programs and to adapt to frequently changing technology.
- Work in a team environment.
- Review information on computer monitors for extended periods of time.
Pay Range: $20.51 to $35.08 per hour.
Hiring Range: $20.51 to $23.74 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of experience performing clerical duties.
- One year of experience working with computer data systems involving criminal justice statistics and reports.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

- Positions in the Police Department must meet the background standards that are appropriate to non-sworn positions. The general factors for disqualification are listed here .
- Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
- Experience with public safety computer applications including police RMS and CAD systems, COPLINK, etc.
- Advanced computer and software skills relevant to statistical reporting and crime analysis (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, ESRI GIS applications, SAP Crystal Reports, I2 Analyst Notebook, Adobe products, etc.).
- Experience researching and analyzing data in various formats and database environments.
- Experience with conducting basic statistical analysis on data, preparing reports that include charts and graphs, and/or presenting findings in writing and/or in person.
- Crime analysis training (e.g. classes from the IACA or AACA, Alpha Group, other crime analysis certificate programs, intern experience in a crime analysis unit, etc.).
- Experience reviewing law enforcement or military reports to assist with data collection, error identification, and/or crime trend research and analysis efforts.
