The Phoenix Police Department's Human Resources section is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist. The Senior Human Resources Generalist performs advanced professional human resources work in a division of the Human Resources Department or the HR section of a large operating department. Senior Generalists perform a variety of functions, which may include labor relations, administrative investigations, discipline, recruiting and selection, classification and compensation, employee training and development, personnel and payroll transactions, administrative hearings, and FMLA/ADA administration. Senior HR Generalists may supervise employees and typically work more independently and on a greater range and complexity of assignments as compared to feeder classification of Human Resources Analyst.
Primary Job Duties Include
Pay Range: $57,179.20 to $97,780.80 annually.
Hiring Range: $57,179.20 to $84,468.80 annually.

Primary Job Duties Include
- Advising supervisors and management in employee relations matters including leave, performance management and corrective actions.
- Conducting administrative investigations.
- Preparing investigatory reports and disciplinary document and making recommendations for appropriate actions.
- Representing the Department in Civil Service Board hearings.
- Facilitating matters related to the American with Disabilities Act and Family Medical Leave Act.
- Interpreting and advising on City policies and procedures, state and federal employment laws.
- Developing and delivering training on various HR topics.
- Creating and updating Position Management Forms (PMFs), reallocations and hire above requests.
- Assisting hiring supervisors with recruiting and interview processes.
- This position may supervise staff that process payroll and HR transactions, annual uniform allowance program, the Police Position Control/Management program, maintaining the Department's Personnel HR files and processing public records requests.
- Knowledge of:
- City of Phoenix Administrative Regulations.
- City of Phoenix Personnel Rules.
- Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs)/Memorandum of Agreement (MOAs).
- Police Department Operations Orders.
- State and Federal Employment Laws.
- The American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
Pay Range: $57,179.20 to $97,780.80 annually.
Hiring Range: $57,179.20 to $84,468.80 annually.

Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of professional human resources management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, public or business administration, or a related field.
- Other combinations of education and experience that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

- Experience with/in:
- Preparing and presenting training to all levels of staff.
- Payroll management, HR transactions and leave management.
- Working with union/association staff members.
- Supervising individuals and/or a team employees.
- Providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
