About This Position
The Water Services Department is seeking Water Resource Specialists to participate in the development, design, and implementation of the Department's water conservation programs. Water Resource Specialists are assigned to operate specific educational, technical, or regulatory programs, and/or to conduct research and statistical analysis to determine the effectiveness of selected water conservation measures. This position interacts with internal Divisions, other City Departments, and external representatives or customers, and consists mainly of field work. This position reports to the Project Manager, who supervises the Department's water conservation functions.

Hiring Range: $57,179.00 - $76,627.00 annually.

Other Duties Include But Not Limited To
- Compiling and analyzing data and understanding of water demand and conservation issues.
- Traveling to residential and non-residential customers and providing technical expertise about landscape water use, irrigation system efficiency, and irrigation system design.
- Supporting community outreach and programs that assist and educate customers about water conservation and efficiency to prepare for possible drought and shortage.
- Attending community events and workshops, and educational programs.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Knowledge of current practices, techniques, and objectives of water conservation and demand management programs.
- Strong organizational and task management skills.
- Able to work independently and exercise good judgment.
Pay Range: $57,179.00 - $118,872.00 annually.
Hiring Range: $57,179.00 - $76,627.00 annually.

Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of professional experience in resource management, planning.
- Bachelor's degree in resource management, hydrology, geology, geography, or a related field.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

- Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

- Customer service, especially in a field setting.
- Implementing environmental compliance programs.
