Position Overview :

PRD's summer camp and preschool programs are looking for enthusiastic, creative, dynamic, and spirited individuals to join our summer team. Under general supervision, Recreation Aides will assist Recreation Leaders in facilitating a variety of recreational and sports activities across the City's summer camp offerings, including Camp Everything, PRD Funtopia, PRD Mini Campers, and summer Preschool programs (Hillside, Tiddlywinks, and Summer Pre-K).

Interviews :

Tuesdays - Fridays, February 11 - March 6, from 1 : 00 - 5 : 00 pm at 358 Hillside Ave. Piedmont
Selected Candidates Notified : Monday, March 10, 2025

If Selected :

Upon acceptance, applicants will receive an email confirmation via Caselle Hire regarding next steps.

Both staff training dates (TBD) are mandatory for new hires.

Onboarding :

Completion of Online Onboarding via Hire Forms (automated email sent with login instructions)

All employees must submit I-9 information and work permits (if applicable) in person.

Employees 18 must schedule fingerprinting with Cora Wood at cwood@piedmont.ca.gov.

In-Person Document Drop-Off Session Dates : (I-9 and Work Permit process takes approximately 5-10 minutes)

Tuesday - Friday, March 11 - 14, 2025

Thursday, March 27, 2025 (Make-Up Date)

Mandatory Summer Staff Training :

New Hire Training : Saturday, May 24 from 9 : 00 AM - 1 : 00 PM at Havens Schoolmates, 323 Highland Ave. (Entrance across the street from 120 Vista Avenue, Piedmont)

CPR Training : (Date / Location TBD)

New / Returning All Camp Training : Saturday, June 7th from 9 : 00 - 11 : 00 AM (Location assignment will be emailed)

Ideal Candidates Are :

Professional : Able to engage with both children and parents in a respectful and appropriate manner.

Responsible : Prioritize safety and consistently follow through on tasks.

Energetic & Enthusiastic : A team player who is always ready to contribute and have fun!

Experienced : Previous experience working with children in a recreation or after-school setting is preferred.

Qualifications and Compensation :

Must be currently enrolled in high school and at least 15 years old at the time of applying.

Work permit required if under 18 years of age.

Salary : $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Hours per week : 20-25 hours
