The City of Pismo Beach is seeking a dynamic and motivated Recreation Coordinator II to assist with recreation programming and facility rentals. In this role, you will support the planning and execution of engaging programs and ensure smooth operations for facility rentals. Perform a variety of administrative tasks in support of assigned area of responsibility. Candidate must be willing to work some weekends and evenings in order to support recreation programing and facility rentals.The Recreation Department provides services in the management of classes offered, Sports Leagues, Volleyball Programs, Special Events, and Senior Programs. The department also provides a wide variety of parks and recreation programs, as well as facility rentals within the City of Pismo Beach.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Plans, organizes and coordinates recreation programs.Provides exemplary customer service to all individuals; maintaining a positive customer service environment.Participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of program goals and objectives.Coordinates program billing, payments, and contracts.Oversees program events and activities.Prepares, updates and maintains reports, correspondence and staff manuals.Establishes and maintains relationships with user groups, staff, and administration.Coordinates marketing and publicity of programs.Provides facility attendant coverage as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Two years of responsible professional experience in the development, coordination, and implementation of a recreation program.Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license. Possession of, or ability to obtain within six months of appointment, a valid first aid/CPR card.
