The Department of City Planning provides a number of unpaid (for-credit/experience) internships for both graduate and undergraduate students and recent graduates. These internships are designed to be part-time with flexible time frames so that students/recent graduates can combine them with a class or work schedule.
College interns assist in achieving our departmental goals and objectives by working with us to complete assigned tasks and projects. They will have the opportunity to learn about general operating procedures, public service and the workings of City government, as well as specific skills, which may include but are not limited to: budgeting, planning meetings and special events, inventory control, researching and developing policy, analyzing data and developing reports, documenting procedures, time management, maintaining databases and customer service.
