Qualifying Requirements:

- WORK EXPERIENCE: The application must clearly show three (3) years of full-time experience operating emergency communications equipment or video surveillance equipment, preferably in law enforcement agency, security or public safety setting. (Less than full-time experience will be calculated on a pro-rated basis.)
- EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show a high school diploma or GED. (See NOTE under the General Application Requirements Section above regarding the verification of education/training).
- EQUIVALENCY: Education/training may be substituted on a year for year basis if the application clearly shows the required number of years to meet the Total Qualifying Requirement for this position (based on the sum of work experience and education/training listed above). The Total Qualifying Requirement is three (3) years. (See NOTE under the General Application Requirements Section above regarding the verification of education/training).

- Exemplifies the Bureau rules and regulations, both on and off duty.
- Proactively monitors and researches real-time camera footage and other electronic data for public safety issues, criminal activity, and suspicious situations from various device locations.
- Relays information between officers, and dispatchers, specialized units, and emergency operations centers.
- Monitors and records police information as well as significant local, national, and international events; researches and confirms suspect warrants and criminal history; conducts various database checks; examines open source information including social media; and provides updates of all source information to affected personnel.
- Maintains automated and manual logs; records, and files as required.
- Attends briefings and meetings to obtain information on daily activities and pertinent information related to crime and homeland security.
- Maintains situational awareness regarding law enforcement and homeland security issues; remains current on emerging topics, trends, and technologies as they relate to electronic research and surveillance; attends related seminars, lectures, and other training and development activities.
- Manages, processes, and converts various types of data to include video recordings from multiple camera sources; identifies and catalogs noteworthy information; and produces various end products.
- Collects and documents facts during an event, and maintains activity logs and other documentation while in a law enforcement setting.
- Provides surveillance and research support to sworn personnel; receives direction regarding related objectives met.
- Provides recommendations on methods and procedures when appropriate; provides training and technical support regarding electronic research and surveillance technologies.
- Communicates with law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies on surveillance and video research evidence.
- Performs a variety of recording keeping, filing, indexing, and other general clerical work.
- Performs such other related tasks and duties that are assigned or required.
