- WORK EXPERIENCE: The application must clearly show three (3) years of full-time systems administration experience which includes: performing systems maintenance, implementation and support. (Less than full-time experience will be calculated on a pro-rated basis.)
- EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show a Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Must have obtained one of the following technical certifications within the past 5 years. (RHCSA, RHCE, CompTIA Server , CompTIA Security , CCNA, Microsoft Certified Azure Administrative Associate, VMWare Certified Professional). (See NOTE under the General Application Requirements Section above regarding the verification of education/training).
- EQUIVALENCY: Education/training and/or work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis if the application clearly shows the required number of years to meet the Total Qualifying Requirement for this position (based on the sum of work experience and education/training listed above). The Total Qualifying Requirement is seven (7) years. (See NOTE under the General Application Requirements Section above regarding the verification of education/training).

- Provides support and maintenance city-wide for on premise, virtual (VMWare) and cloud compute and storage infrastructure including but not limited to Windows Server and Linux.
- Provides escalated support for client computer hardware, software (OS and Application), printers, communication devices, graphics and storage peripherals.
- Recommends and implements purchase and/or modification to existing computers and peripheral and network software and operating systems.
- Optimizes and automates, to the extent possible, account modification (new, transfer, departed employees) and preventive maintenance activities; delivers regular reports on same.
- Maintains Active Directory and Group Policy infrastructure.
- Designs, develops, and maintains the City's disaster recovery co-location facility.
- Oversees and validates the City's backup and recovery model to maximize retention based on departmental policy.
- Leads and participates in projects and tasks.
- Oversees the team's ITSM ticket assignments and flow to ensure expectations for quality, speed and work balance are met.
- Reviews agreed upon team KPIs to assess System Administration team performance.
- Documents work processes.
- Acts as a liaison with consultants, vendors, outside agencies, City Departments, etc., on assigned projects.
- Focuses on operational resilience for business continuity preparation in coordination with CISO and CDO.
- Performs other related tasks and duties as assigned or required.
