Examples of Duties: Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor or Aquatics Coordinator, provides exemplary front line customer service; greets patrons at entrance; collects admission fees; answers phones; takes program registrations; maintains filing system with all records and reports required by licensing agencies; provides general information to the public; maintains daily receipts; prepares and maintains all pool office paperwork and supplies; provides administrative support to aquatics staff; writes reports; assists in emergency situations; makes frequent facility checks; maintains discipline and orderly conduct among patrons and enforces all pertinent pool rules and regulations; maintains records and reports as needed; performs pool maintenance functions; and performs related work as required.
Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills is:
Certificates: Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer (or equivalent) recommended, leadership training encouraged.
Education/Experience: Completion of junior year of high school; one or more seasons as a participant in an aquatics program; previous customer service experience desirable.
Skill and Knowledge: Working with people of all ages; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; first aid and CPR techniques; following oral and written instructions; working cooperatively with others; being neat, orderly and honest; interpreting policies and procedures.
Hours: May be scheduled to work 10 to 40 hours a week, between the hours of 7:30am and 9:30pm, Saturday through Friday.
Employment Dates: Seasonal, Memorial Day weekend through mid-August, additional spring and fall employment possible.
