Summary of Duties: Under basic supervision, the Athletic Program Representative on various evenings, nights, and weekends, monitors programs at athletic facilities, provides support for athletic programs and performs related work as required.
Examples Of ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Management reserves the right to add, modify, change, or rescind the work assignments of different positions and to make reasonable accommodations so that qualified employees can perform the essential functions of the job.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of Sports equipment; various sporting rules; operation activities of athletic facilities; safety policies, procedure, and regulations; basic athletic field maintenance.
Skill in: Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing; interacting with the public in a courteous and helpful manner; organizing and monitoring athletic programs; operating a golf card in accordance with safety policies.
Education: No formal education is required.
Experience: Must be familiar with various sports.
Any work-related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements.
Licenses and Certifications: None.
Conditions of Employment: Must pass a drug test, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in and around City athletic fields and facilities; strength, stamina, and mobility to perform light to medium physical work; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio. The job involves fieldwork requiring frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate above-mentioned equipment. Positions in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, and reach when completing maintenance and preparing athletic fields. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 20 pounds, or heavier weights with the use of proper equipment.
Employees work in and around City athletic fields and facilities and are exposed to loud noise levels and cold and hot temperatures.

- Prepares athletic sites for sports play.
- Processes equipment and merchandise sales.
- Responds to patron questions and concerns.
- Provides information regarding recreation programs and leagues.
- Processes program and league registrations in Active Net.
- Conducts equipment compliance checks.
- Unlocks and locks gates for open and close of fields.
- Assists umpires and referees in resolving disputes during games when issues arise.
- Assists supervisor in communicating with and overseeing umpires and referees.
- Provides assistance and golf cart transportation to injured participants and other patrons.
- Enforces City and department safety policies, rules, and procedures.
- Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work schedule is essential.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
