What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at CITY OF PLEASANTON?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITES:
- Performs all lifeguard responsibilities including monitoring pool activities, applying first aid and CPR, and performing water rescues as necessary
- Ensures that swimmers are well supervised in the pool and on decks.
- Keeps management well informed of pool maintenance needs including chemical adjustments and repairs
- Inventories and recognizes when supplies or equipment need to be ordered and communicates to the Pool Manager
- Assists in teaching swimming lessons as instructed by the Head Lifeguard and Pool Manager.
- Fill out forms such as incident report forms and pool logs and reports all of these to the Pool Manager.
- Wear proper lifeguard attire such as recue tube, whistle, rescue mask, and any personal protective equipment while on duty.
- Make sure that the pool facility is clean such as the pool, grass areas, restrooms, office, pool deck and trashcans.
- Performs related duties as required.
