This position will perform preventative lifeguarding practices and maintain order and cleanliness of the facilities and grounds. Under the general supervision of the Head Lifeguard and the Aquatic Center Director.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The following duties and responsibilities are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned and required. Supervises swimming activities at the aquatic center and ensure that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed. Warns swimmers of improper activities or dangers and enforces water safety policies and regulations. Administers first aid in the event of injury.Rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning.Administers CPR and/or artificial respiration when necessary.Evaluates conditions for safety and initiates aquatics center emergency action plan as required. Inspects pool facility, equipment and water to ensure they are safe.Help with pre-season set-up and post-season clean-up of the aquatic center area.Establish and maintain working relationships with the public, staff, and City officials. Performs lifeguard duties.Attends and contributes mandatory staff in-service training sessions.Communicate clearly and effectively with patrons.Other duties as assigned.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
