This is a seasonal position within the Parks & Recreation Department.
The Cashier provides customer service to the patrons of the Ross Park Aquatic Complex (RPAC), Community Recreation Center (CRC) and Zoo. This position requires applicants to be 16 years of age or older.
The cashier is responsible for providing customer service, accurately processing Point-of-Sale (POS) and cash transactions, issuing receipts, and answering phones. This position requires a background check. The job requires the ability to maintain a collaborative and cooperative working relationship with elected and appointed officials, other City employees, other organizations, and the general public. The work environment will include inside conditions, outdoor weather conditions, in wet and humid conditions, with areas of dust, odors, mist, gases or other airborne matter. Employees work in/at places where they are exposed to mechanical hazards. This cashier may work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

- Ross Park Aquatic Complex (RPAC)
- Responsible for greeting and admitting pool patrons into the aquatic complex.
- Duties include performing POS and cash transactions, operating a cash register and POS equipment, providing accurate cash change, reconciling cash registers and answering the phones to address customer needs & questions.
- Community Recreation Center (CRC)
- Responsible for greeting and admitting members of the Community Recreation Center.
- Duties include registering members for various programs, selling memberships and daily passes, performing POS and cash transactions, operating a cash register, providing accurate change, and answering phones to address customer needs and questions regarding hours of operation, types of programs, and types of memberships.
- Zoo Idaho
- Responsible for greeting and admitting patrons to the zoo entrance or gift shop.
- Duties include performing POS and cash transactions, operating a cash register and POS equipment, and reconciling of cash register.
- The cashier will answer the patrons’ questions, provide directions to exhibits.

- Applicant must be 16 years of age or older;
- High school diploma or GED preferred;
- Basic computer and cash handling skills preferred;
- Basic CPR & First Aid preferred.
