The City of Pomona is seeking a part-time Office Assistant I to join the Revenue Management Division of our Finance Department. This position serves as the initial point of contact for City Hall visitors, providing a welcoming and professional experience. Responsibilities include monitoring the building entrance, assisting visitors with entering and exiting the facility, and delivering courteous and effective support to internal staff and the public. Under general supervision, serves as greeter for City Hall customers, providing information and queueing customers using computer software. This position is classified as at-will, hourly, part-time. Hourly, part-time positions average 20 hours per week and less than 1,000 hours in a fiscal year.

Proficiency with basic computer programs, such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, City-specific software, and outside vendor software (e.g. Metrolink Quick Card Portal) is essential, along with strong deductive reasoning skills to assess visitor needs and respond appropriately.     Education and Experience :

  • High school graduate or GED equivalency

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Greet customers in a polite manner.
  • Provide a variety of information on services available at City Hall to customers and provide direction and other pertinent information related to City services.
  • Provide assistance to customers, as needed, and refer customers to appropriate department(s).
  • Respond to inquiries over the phone and in person; direct individuals to appropriate information sources.
  • Prepare and process monthly Get About and Metrolink passes to customers, using excel, internal finance software, and Metrolink's portal.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Working Hours

    Work hours will be 20 hours per week, Monday-Thursday either 7 : 30 AM - 12 : 30 PM or 12 : 30 PM - 5 : 30 PM.

    This position will job share with one other Part-Time Greeter.

    Must have the ability to be flexible with scheduling.
