Description
Monitors all airport flight operations, aircraft movement areas and landside roadways for the City of Pompano Beach. Accurately records and reports any non-compliance issues of Chapter 93 – Code of Ordinances – City of Pompano Beach to the Airport Manager for administrative actions. Performs runway, taxiway and tenant leasehold inspections and provides vehicular escort services for disabled aircraft when necessary. Responds to emergency situations as necessary. Conducts airport security patrols as required. Performs related work as required.
Typical Qualifications
Ability to keep accurate, legible records. Ability to understand and carry out instructions. Must possess a keen sense of sight and hearing to monitor flight operations visually and track them audibly on the designated Air Traffic Control Frequency. Knowledge of airport operations, aviation maintenance, and/or pilot certificate is desirable. Exposure to aircraft noise and adverse outdoor weather conditions. Valid Florida driver’s license.
