Responsible for scheduling, supervising, and assigning field personnel. Ensures crews have the necessary tools, equipment, and materials while enforcing safety procedures. Works from work orders, instructions, or blueprints and verifies task completion. Investigate complaints, maintain public relations, and keep time and material records. Supervises and participates in maintenance of grounds, refuse containers, benches, and other assigned tasks. Operates equipment such as backhoes, trenchers, loaders, trucks, and small machinery. Monitors solid waste hauler performance and City staff for efficiency. Conducts routine city inspections and responds to customer complaints. The schedule may require early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays. Maintains activity reports and performs related duties as needed.

Typical Qualifications
- Must have at least two (2) years of full-time technical or professional experience in environmental, sanitation, or solid waste operations.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's Degree or higher in Environmental Sciences or a related field is preferred.
- Possession of a Florida Class B CDL.
- A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
- Knowledge of the City's solid waste regulations and contracts, as well as other applicable state or county laws.
- Understand City ordinances and state laws relating to solid waste and recycling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HTE applications is beneficial.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Proficient in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Effective interpersonal skills to communicate and interact with other employees and the public.
- Ability to operate one or more of the following equipment/machines: Front-end loader, Boat, Bucket truck, Backhoe, Rear/side loading garbage truck, and Dump truck
- Physical abilities include: Seeing, reading, talking, hearing, handling, or feeling objects and controls
- Operating various office-related equipment
- Walking, standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to move up to 50 lbs.
- Work environment may occasionally expose the employee to: Moving mechanical parts, High, precarious places, Fumes or airborne particles, Toxic or caustic chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions of all types
