THE CITY OF PORT HURON IS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:
SWIM INSTRUCTOR
RECREATION DEPARTMENT
- Proficient in all swim strokes.
- Knowledge of water safety.
- Observe and enforce all rules and regulations of the facility to prevent accidents and/or emergency situations.
- Utilize a flexible teaching approach to suit the age, experience and ability of each participant to meet lesson objectives.
- Be creative with teaching techniques in order to keep all participants actively involved.
- Teach using encouragement and positive reinforcement.
- Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service.
- Respond to inquiries from the public in a timely and professional manner.
- Communicate effectively with other staff, patrons, participants and parents.
- Return all materials to their proper place at the conclusion of each class.
- Complete required records and reports.
- Participate in regular in-service training sessions.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Working Hours:
- Hours vary.
- Six month maximum assignment.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions with prolonged periods of sitting, standing and walking.
Salary Range: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour (depending on age and qualifications)
Benefit Package:
- Does not include a benefit package.
