This position is Essential and is required to report to duty before, during, and immediately after a civil emergency.
Semi-skilled and manual work in maintaining various grounds, fields and facilities. Facilitates the development of public trust and confidence in the City.

- Maintains equipment and facilities by performing manual labor and semi-skilled work
- Maintains various grounds, fields and parks by performing mowing, weeding, tilling, raking, digging and other manual labor tasks
- Prepares fields, grounds and courts for athletic activities
- Performs tasks of painting, irrigation maintenance and spraying
- Performs sodding, seeding, trimming, edging, mulching and similar work in parks and other City grounds.
- Performs litter control functions, cleans restrooms
- Sets up picnic and other areas
- Operates vehicles and equipment and performs preventative maintenance functions on the vehicles and equipment.
- Makes daily written and oral reports
- Informs and directs public in the use of facilities
- Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma required. Two (2) years of grounds maintenance experience is preferred. Possession of valid Florida Driver's License and maintenance of clean driving record is required. A comparable amount of training, education, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Knowledge, Skill and/or Ability Required:
- Knowledge of tools and equipment required to perform duties.
- Knowledge of groundskeeping practices and principles.
- Skill in the operation and preventive maintenance of equipment and related tools.
- Ability to operate equipment required to perform duties.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor under various weather conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
