JOURNEY-LEVEL ELECTRICIAN
$35.53-40.36 base pay range
$35.53-45.20 total pay range (with maximum potential longevity)
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code, NFPA-70E, OSHA 10-30, and the National Electrical Safety Code.
- WA State certification as a general journey level electrician (01). Candidates with electrical certification from another state must obtain the WA State certification as required by L&I within one month of hire.
- Building Operator Certification (BOC I) or must obtain within 1 year of being in this position.
- Valid Washington State driver's license and driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier.
- At least 4 years of experience working in electrical, boiler, HVAC, and facility maintenance.
- First Aid/CPR certification or must obtain within 1 year of being in this position.
- Flagger Training Certification within the first 6 months in this position
Preferred qualifications
- Considerable experience using a maintenance management software program.
- Building Operator Certification (BOC) Level I
- Building systems software experience
MASTER ELECTRICIAN
$37.08-42.12 base pay range
$37.08-47.17 total pay range (with maximum potential longevity)
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code, NFPA-70E, OSHA 10-30, and the National Electrical Safety Code.
- Master Electrician certificate from WA State L&I.
- Building Operator Certification (CBO Level II) or must obtain within 1 year of being in this position.
- Valid Washington State driver's license and driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier.
- At least 8 years of experience working in electrical, boiler, HVAC, and facility maintenance.
- First Aid/CPR certification or must obtain within 1 year of being in this position.
- Flagger Training Certification within the first 6 months in this position
Preferred qualifications
- Considerable experience using a maintenance management software program.
- Building Operator Certification (BOC) Level II.
- Building systems software experience.

This position may be eligible for the additional compensation listed below. Details can be found in the Collective Bargaining Agreement:
- Longevity pay on a graduated schedule starting at 2% after 5 years up to 12% after 25 years
- Overtime pay or compensatory time
- Jury duty pay at regular rate during service
* Teamsters initiation fee is $100 and monthly dues are 2.25 of hourly wage x the base hourly rate rounded to the nearest dollar.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires being onsite working in the field primarily in the outdoors during all types of weather; repeated walking, bending, stooping and lifting; the ability to occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.; vision and hearing at level required to perform essential functions (may be corrected); and a full range of motor skills. This position may require working in confined spaces.
