THE ROLE :

The Water Utility Maintenance Manager is responsible for assisting with the administrative and technical work in the management of the maintenance of the City’s Water Treatment Plant, Two (2) Booster Pump Stations, and Three (3) Elevated Storage Tanks. The Water Utility Maintenance Manager will assist in establishing and maintaining an effective preventative maintenance program for all water utility assets and for any future building or equipment changes.

  • Establish and effective preventative maintenance program throughout the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) upgrade and for any future building or equipment changes.
  • Implement a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Maintain up to date maintenance logs and reports on daily activities.
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs to all water utility equipment including HVAC, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing related equipment, motor controls, control panels, etc.
  • Keeps records on equipment life cycle for Capital Improvement Plan. Coordinates work between consultants, vendors and contractors on plant repairs, equipment installations and improvement projects keeping the Water Utility Superintendent updated on issues and progress.
  • Responsible for the sourcing of necessary equipment and materials. Assists Water Utility Superintendent with budget and CIP planning.
  • Responsible for the creation of a Parts Procurement Program.
  • Performs routine maintenance and repairs of electrical, mechanical and control problems of valve actuators, pumps, motors, small engines, and seasonal equipment.
  • Performs repair or general maintenance work of all facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at the WTP and other utility facilities (as required) including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, welding, etc.
  • Responsible for identifying, documenting, and procuring critical spare parts for inventory management.

Requirements : Required :

  • High school diploma or GED required. Two (2) years of college or vocational training in one or more of the following areas of study : facilities or industrial maintenance, HVAC and refrigeration, electro-mechanical wiring, electrical or plumbing apprenticeships, boiler operation or maintenance.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license.
  • Course work in environmental sciences, water treatment operations, or a closely related field.
  • Preferred :

  • Training or certification in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and Arc Flash compliance.
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of Products : Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
