COMMUNITY HEALTH PROMOTIONS SPECIALIST - TOBACCO PREVENTION
HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, PUBLIC HEALTH DIVISION - COMMUNITY HEALTH PROMOTION SPECIALIST
Seeking a qualified individual for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) project position with City of Portland Public Health Division’s Tobacco Prevention Program. This grant funded position will assist in reducing exposure to tobacco in disparate populations through community education, policy, environmental changes, and supporting systems level change in Portland and throughout Cumberland County. Other responsibilities include program planning, implementation, evaluation, distribution of health promotion materials, community outreach and coalition building.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree in public health, health education or related field or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Experience in health promotion, public health, and tobacco prevention.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of
community representatives including community members, business owners, technical or vocational school staff, social services, and community-based organizations. - Proficient organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and responsibilities.

Salary & Benefits:
This is a union position, ProTech (Grade 6): $26.27 - $27.06/hr.
