LIFEGUARD (AQUATIC PROGRAMMER I)
Lifeguard - Aquatic Programmer I
Year round, part-time (22.50 hours/week) position.
The City of Portland Aquatics Division is offering an opportunity to engage with the community and make a difference as a Lifeguard! Do you want to make a splash by helping others stay safe while having fun? This is a part-time opportunity for Lifeguards who are passionate about ensuring the safety of guests in and around the pool area. Promising candidates will have strong communication skills and the ability to promote safety and work well in a team environment. If you’re ready to dive into a rewarding role that combines responsibility, customer service, and a love for the water, we want YOU to join our team!
Required Skills & Experience:
- Good customer service skills and ability to work with a diverse population.
- Prior experience working with preschool children and youth.
- Ability to maintain order and enforce rules and regulations and to impart enthusiasm in a positive and productive atmosphere.
- Knowledge of a variety of aquatic activities.
- Ability to exercise good judgment.
- Must hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification and must attach copies of certifications to your application.
- Must pass a criminal conviction background check.

Salary & Benefits:
This is a union position, CEBA (Grade 5) - Starting at $18.78/hr.
