MAINTENANCE WORKER II – Public Works, Solid Waste Division
Up to $2,500 sign on bonus available!
Schedule is Monday thru Friday from 6 : 30 AM to 2 : 30 PM
The Public Works Department is seeking a qualified applicant to join the Solid Waste team. Successful applicant must be able to work holidays and some Saturday’s and when called in for winter operations.
Required Skills & Experience :
- Demonstrate the ability to operate and maintain Solid Waste equipment including rubbish packers, recycling trucks, roll-off trucks.
- Must also have ability to operate and maintain winter equipment including dump trucks and front-end loaders as required.
- Applicants must possess good visual acuity for driving and physical strength, agility and stamina necessary to withstand exposure to adverse climatic conditions.
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and members of the public.
- Must possess valid Maine Class A or B driver’s license (must provide license number).
- Must pass pre-employment medical exam and fitness assessment and pass federally mandated drug test.
- Must have and maintain good driving record.

Salary & Benefits :
This is a union position, Labor & Trades (17-CDL) - Salary Range : $27.13 / hr. to $29.82 / hr.
