Event Services Staff - Food and Beverage Services - Public Assembly Facilities - Full-Time, 37.5 / hours per week
The Parks, Recreation & Facilities Department is searching for a reliable individual with strong leadership skills to be a part of the Public Assembly and Facilities team. This position will focus on duties associated with the Food and Beverage operations within the City of Portland facilities such as cooking, cleaning, inventory, deliveries, selling of food, beverages and alcoholic beverages. These responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the event. These facilities include City Hall, The Clock Tower Cafe, Merrill Auditorium, the James A. Banks Sr. Exposition Building, Hadlock Field Stadium, Fitzpatrick Stadium, Ocean Gateway, Portland Ocean Terminal, Troubh Ice Arena and other parks and City properties. This position enforces all relevant policies and procedures to ensure that sanitation of all concession stands are in compliance with City and State health codes and National Restaurant serve-safe standards including the enforcement of City Codes, State Regulations, and Maine Liquor laws when applicable. This position may assist in general set up and cleaning to prepare for events and the general teardown after events. This position will provide and may oversee on-call staff with training pertaining to safety and job duties.
Required Skills & Experience :
- Excellent communication and customer service skills needed.
- Working knowledge of Google Suite and event scheduling software.
- Prior cash handling experience needed.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50lbs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays. Must possess a TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) Certification and a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire.
- Must have a valid State of Maine Class C driver's license and must have and maintain a good driving record.

Salary & Benefits :
This is a union position, CEBA (Grade 8) - Pay rate starting at $20.57 / hr; $771.38 wkly - $23.13 / hr; $867.38 wkly.
