Position Summary:
Portland Parks and Recreation is seeking a skilled Greenskeeper I for golf course maintenance. This role involves engaging with a diverse range of multicultural and multilingual communities.
A successful candidate will have a solid understanding of golf course maintenance equipment, possess knowledge of irrigation repair, be experienced in fertilizer application, and understand the rules and etiquette of golf. The Greenskeeper I is responsible for grooming turf in all areas of the golf course according to USGA guidelines, ensuring playability and difficulty for tournament play, club play, and daily users. Additionally, this position involves answering inquiries from the golfing public regarding course maintenance, basic etiquette, and the rules of golf.
The current opening is at Eastmoreland Golf Course, but this recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies at any of the following golf courses: Colwood, Eastmoreland, Heron Lakes, RedTail, and Rose City.

To Qualify
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
- Experience operating and performing maintenance of golf equipment including but not limited to greens mowers, fairway mowers, and trim mowers.
- Experience maintaining and repairing golf course irrigation.
- Experience setting up golf courses and applying golf rules and etiquette.
- Ability to safely and effectively applying fertilizers and pesticides.
- Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with colleagues and diverse communities, embracing various races, backgrounds, and ethnicities, while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- A valid state driver's license and an acceptable driving record
