The City of Portland Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) is seeking Civil Engineers for a current opening in the Sewage, Stormwater, and Restoration Construction Management team of their Engineering Services group, as well as for future position openings within the bureau.Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am-5 pm. An alternate schedule may be available.

As an Engineer on the Construction Management team, this position will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for large diameter sewer rehabilitation and construction, provide quality control reviews of municipal utility infrastructure project plans and specifications, and manage large scale, complex, utility construction projects from the procurement phase, through construction, project close-out and the warranty phase. This position will also coordinate with other bureaus, negotiate, and execute Memorandums of Understanding and coordinate required project permits.
What you’ll get to do:
- Oversee the execution of construction contracts, ensuring the City and construction contractors fulfill their contractual obligations.
- Verify adequate safety measures are employed within the project area to ensure the safety of the Contractors, City employees and the general public.
- Oversee the work of technicians and/or oversee and coordinate the work of consultants, along with providing engineering support to other bureau teams.

- Experience with civil engineering Construction and project management and/or contract administration and project management.

- A Certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer by the time of hire.
