What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at City of Portland?
The Human Resources Generalist will serve under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager. The Human Resources Generalist will perform duties in all areas of Human Resources including but not limited to administrative functions, recruitment and onboarding, employment benefits, and worker's compensation.
This position is subject to the City of Portland’s Background Investigation and Drug Testing Policy. New hires are required to provide proof of identity and legal authority to work in the United States per Federal law.

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent required. * Over three years of related experience required * Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of computer systems * Ability to effectively communicate with others, oral and written * Organizations, multi-tasking; adapts easily to fast-paced environment * HR certification is required or must be acquired within first year. Previous experience working within a municipality is strongly preferred.
