This position reports to the Recreation Support Systems Team and helps implement projects that improve business processes and enhance service delivery. The role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating projects. Work may be done independently, leading project management for a committee, or in collaboration with other teams. PP&R is committed to offering high-quality, inclusive, and community-centered programs. The Recreation Coordinator - Special Events & Marketing contributes to service delivery by researching, developing, recommending, and implementing programs and projects that meet established goals.

What You'll Get To Do
- Work with a team who leads with the City of Portland core values as guiding principals to delivering equitable outcomes to recreation programs and who is innovative, curious, supportive, and adaptive.
- Work closely with Recreation Division work groups to deliver on marketing efforts including development, design, and production of digital and print collateral.
- Development, coordination, and evaluation of marketing plans for the Recreation Services Division of Portland Parks & Recreation.
- Coordinate material distribution
- Provide guidance and c oordinate marketing material distribution city-wide .
- Collaborate with internal work groups and external community organizations to coordinate, build, and deliver outreach support to community events to provide education and information about Portland Parks & Recreation recreation services.

The Following Minimum Qualifications Are Required For This Position
- Knowledge and ability to administer and coordinate comprehensive and strategic recreation communication and marketing programs.
- Experience developing marketing communication materials for projects, such as posters, invitations, newsletters, banners, signage, and local advertising.
- Experience developing recreation marketing strategies, objectives, targets, and measures taking into consideration the diverse populations of Portland, target markets, and revenue goals at PP&R sites and programs.
- Experience utilizing online community and social media sources to promote activities, increase community support, and share information.
- Experience creating, editing, manipulating, and utilizing current and innovative applications in managing photography, photo editing, document development, and web-based content.
