Position Summary:
Monitors and maintains the water and wastewater SCADA system for the City of Prescott. This position also performs advanced journey-level work that involves installing, maintaining, and repairing water production equipment and facilities.
Essential Duties:
- Performs electrical maintenance, SCADA duties, and assignments for water and wastewater system infrastructure; makes programming changes based on radio feedback from operators.
- Lays conduit and pulls wire for electrical needs.
- Works with a wide variety of voltages up to and including 2400 volts.
- Calibrates and installs instrumentation.
- Maintains telemetry systems and electronic devices.
- Diagnoses electrical malfunctions and determines necessary repairs or replacement.
- Maintains antenna and radio system diagnosis and repair.
- Coordinates with control system programmers.
- Performs minor control system configuration and troubleshooting.
- Installs, repairs, or replaces pumps, compressors, motors, valves, pressure regulating, filtration, gearboxes, pressure vessels, tanks, and other related equipment.
- Lubricates bearings.
- Replaces seals, gaskets, packing, springs, and gears.
- Works at a variety of sites such as wells, water booster stations, sewer lift stations, tanks, PRVs, or other sites.
- Uses appropriate safety equipment; follows safety procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma; five (5) years of work experience in the performance of journey-level electrical maintenance repair functions including experience in the coordination, implementation, repair, and practical use of SCADA systems.
Licensing, Certification, and Other Requirements:
Possess a valid Arizona driver's license; obtain forklift operator certification within one (1) year of hire; complete required training in: confined space; arc flash; chlorine safety; bloodborne pathogens; lock out/tag out procedures; hazard communications; OSHA required training; and other City required training including Inductive University, ADEQ Water Distribution Grade I within eighteen months (18) of hire.

Physical Demands And Working Conditions:
- Work is performed at various facilities and in the field with exposure to the elements.
- Safely operates required equipment and City vehicles as needed
- Clearly, concisely, and effectively communicate in person, over the radio, and by telephone.
- Requires working overtime, being scheduled to stand-by, and being subject to emergency call-outs.
- Safely performs manual labor for extended periods of time and lifts 60 pounds frequently with a maximum of 100 pounds.
- Exposed to adverse weather conditions, confined space, high traffic areas, exposure to raw sewage, chemicals, rotating equipment, hydrogen sulfide, noise, high-medium-low voltage, oxygen deficient, and hazardous environments.
- Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
