Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills
Work May Include
- Assisting with recreation program support including set up and take down, running activities, interacting with customers and other program duties as assigned.
- Generates several reports
- Performs a variety of clerical duties including copy, entering data, emailing, and assisting other staff.
- Performs basic cleaning and janitorial functions as needed.
- Follow and enforce rules as established by the recreation, program, or activity.
- Providing basic skill instruction.
- Maintaining registration or sign in sheets.
- Maintain facilities, equipment and supplies.
- Participating in the activities with participants and other staff
- Setting up tables, chairs, tents, fields, and various equipment.
- Assist participants, coaches, parents, and staff with the adherence to sportsmanship policies
- Monitoring sports fields and assisting with referee duties as needed.
- Contributes to effective City operations by performing other duties as assigned.
- Employees in this position may be assigned to a specific program. These employees are expected to generally perform those duties listed above but also those listed in their specific program.
- Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
- Ability to work under pressure and provide superior service to peers and patrons.
- Ability to maintain professional working relationships.
- Knowledge of the equipment, program, facilities, operations and techniques used in assigned program;
- Ability to be a team player.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, participants, instructors, and the general public.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally.
- Ability to give and understand oral instructions
