What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Transit Driver position at City of Quincy?
Driver will be responsible for transporting senior citizens and others to various destinations in Quincy. Reports to the Director of Transit. Starting wage is $16.00/HR. This position averages 12 hours/week and is not eligible for benefits.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Drives vehicle transporting passengers to various destinations
- Provides safe and on-time transportation
- Provides door-to-door assistance to passengers, as necessary, to include carrying passenger's packages and other belongings
- Provides stellar customer service and assistance to passengers with mobility restrictions to get to and from the vehicle
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Transit
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent
LICENSE:
Must possess valid State of Illinois driver's license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must have a pleasant attitude
- Must have knowledge of City streets and County roads
- Must be able to read and write
- Must be able to count money
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
Vehicle, two-way radio, cell phone
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stoop or bend. Must be able to push / pull weight requirements prescribed under ADA.
